''You can’t be beautiful if you’re unkind. You can spend your entire life searching for outer beauty, but the cliches are real: it’s what’s on the inside that counts!''

ON HOW SHE GOT INTO AESTHETIC DERMATOLOGY

I believe that our fate has its way of finding us no matter how hard we try to deny it. I had always been passionate about beauty in every form: fashion, art, but I tried to deny it by choosing “a more serious” line of work - medicine. But you can’t escape what the heart wants and after graduating from Med School, I chose Dermatology as my speciality. Dermatology is actually very complex and aeshetics is just a small part of it, but, unsurprisingly, it’s the part I gravitate towards the most. I love that I've managed to create a life where enhancing natural beauty is my mission.

ON HER ONE ADVICE FOR NATURAL BEAUTY

You see, it’s all connected: mind, body and spirit and it shows. You can’t have great skin if you don’t take care of your general well-being (skin is an organ after all) by eating well, working out and having a good sleeping schedule. But, more importantly, you can’t be beautiful if you’re unkind. You can spend your entire life searching for outer beauty, but the cliches are real: it’s what’s on the inside that counts!

On a more practical note, improving skin quality with skincare (spf is bff), lasers and mesotherapy is the basis of natural beauty.

ON THE SKINCARE STEP ONE SHOULD NEVER SKIP, NO MATTER THE HOUR OR THE CIRCUMSTANCES

The first step of any proper skincare routine is cleansing and that is also the step I never skip, no matter how tired I am. Don’t go to sleep with makeup on, it’s terrible for your skin, but don’t cleanse too hard either, because that could damage your skin barrier. A gentle cleanser is best and cleansing is a must.

Also, I never ever ever skip sunscreen and I advise you to do the same as it’s the best anti-ageing product you could get. Less sun damage means less wrinkles, fewer dark spots and less photoageing, but also healthier skin.

ON HOW HER SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT HAS HELPED HER CARREER GROWTH

It is a belief of mine that you attract what you are and in this way, social media has helped me tremendously. By showing who I am, what my passions are and also the challenges I face sometimes, patients connect better and easier to me. Also, I attract patients that share my values and my aesthetic and I feel incredibly lucky. You should see the amazing, inspiring women (and men ) that come to see me, I feel honored.

ON WHERE HER PASSION FOR FASHION COMES FROM

I remember being 5 years old and getting crazy excited to wear my white lace dress that I only got to wear on Sundays, so I think it’s safe to say my passion for fashion has always been a part of me. I also remember not being able to find the clothes I wanted in the early 2000s and going to a local seamstress and getting custom clothes whenever I could. Then, in 2010 I was a college student obsessed with finding thrift store gems like cashmere sweaters and designer items. I still have a mini leather skirt from that period and it’s been 15 years! You see, fashion has always been with me through my early years, highscool and university up to today. I view it as a form of art that feeds my inner need for beauty and it also stimulates my creativity.

ON THE ULTIMATE MARK OF FEMININITY IN HER OPINION

Softness. Femininity does not come from trivial things such as a beautiful dress, curly hair or good makeup, it’s more about attitude: gentle, kind and soft. This softness doesn’t mean being afraid to speak your mind or being submissive, but understanding that you don’t need to shout out, neither by looks, nor words in order to be seen and heard.

ON THE FIVE THINGS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD OWN

Other than good books!, which everybody should own, it’s hard to put together a list of musts because it depends on lifestyle. For a woman that shares my lifestyle: a white oversized shirt made of cotton poplin, a pair of relaxed fit jeans in a dark wash, a cashmere sweater, black sunglasses and a perfect coat could be the start of a wardrobe that is both stylish and classical. A forever wardrobe!

ON HER GO-TO OUTFIT FOR AN EVENT

It depends on my mood, the dresscode and the season, but it often includes an oversized black blazer, which is a must in my wardrobe. Sometimes I wear it directly on my skin, paired with black palazzo pants or a black satin skirt. Other times, on top of a white t-shirt paired with white jeans and kitten heels. Ultimately, I wear it casually on my shoulders on top of a midi dress paired with statement shoes. I don’t like over the top occasion wear and I choose simplicity even for the most sophisticated events.

ON THE LOOK THAT SAYS ANCA THE MOST

Simple and timeless. Maybe a cashmere or wool sweater in an off-white color, ivory pants, a brown belt, a pair of kitten heels and a long floorlength ivory coat. All topped off with tortoise sunglasses, a top handle bag and gold jewelry.

ON THREE INSTAGRAM PAGES THAT INSPIRE HER THE MOST

Classy ladies with great style: @dcopperman, @ariviere and @olesyaschuler.
